ABOUT
The Contemplative and Integrative Health Center (CIH) was founded to bridge the gap between science and contemplative practice bringing together accessible healing, community care, and rigorous research.
Mission
Our mission is to support mental, physical, and emotional well-being through education, mentorship, and research in contemplative methods, such as breathwork, yoga, meditation, music therapy, lifestyle medicine, and other somatic therapies.
We aim to make these evidence-based practices accessible to all through community outreach, workshops, classes, retreats, and individual and group therapies.
In addition, we are launching new research initiatives, both locally and internationally, to further explore their impact on health, resilience, and connection.
The Founder
Founded by Daniella DeVarney, MA Psychology, CIH grew from over 25 years of work in integrative health and mind-body education. Educated at UCLA and Harvard University, Daniella now serves as a Teaching Fellow and Assistant in the Psychology Department at Harvard (HES), focusing on Lifestyle Medicine and Music Psychology.
In private practice, she integrates Lifestyle Medicine, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and somatic approaches to guide clients and groups toward emotional regulation, resilience, and self-discovery. As a researcher, she explores slow deep breathing interventions in both individual and group settings. Her work, featured in USA Today, has supported professional athletes and clients of all backgrounds in reconnecting with their bodies, restoring balance, and remembering their innate capacity for wholeness.
Her research and professional work have also been shared at the International Congress of Integrative Medicine and Health and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, further advancing the dialogue between science and contemplative practice.
